I have to say, even though this video is two years old, this is still one of THE most important skills to learn for getting your videos found on search.

If you are not getting much search traffic, take notes while watching this video!

Getting your videos found on YouTube is all about using titles with keywords that people are searching for.

YouTube is a search engine so taking the time to do keyword research is time well spent.

Getting the titles just right will also help your video score higher with the Google and YouTube algorithm.

Using great keyword rich titles is what SEO really means: creating titles, descriptions and tags so people can find your content.

In this video, I share how to research your potential titles using Google to see how popular the search terms are.

It’s very easy to do this research once you know what to look for and how to do it!

New to YouTube? Do these 2 Things First!

If you haven’t even started your your channel or you’re still trying to figure it out, this it for YOU!

If you are new to YouTube, you are probably wondering what to do first!

There are so many things to think about, gear to buy, plans to make…

but one of the first things you need to do is to really dive deep into who you are making videos for!

The research is in and video content is king.

You can grow on YouTube even in a crowded arena once you figure out your content strategy and really dig down on what kind of people are searching for your content.

Think about:

1. What are the problems and solutions they are searching for? (Finding good entertainment is a problem to be solved, too.)

2. How can you solve their problems from your videos?

3. What ages, stages in life, income level, geographical area, etc. are they?

The more you dive into discovering the type of people who would love to binge watch your channel, the more you can gear your content to them!

And do not worry if your content has already been done by others. You have your own teaching styleand ideas and maybe you can explain things better for your ideal subscriber.

This is what we call your niche.

And the second thing to do is just start making videos!

Once you understand your ideal subscriber and niche, the YouTube algorithm will know how and where to show your videos. This is why getting clear on your ideal subscriber or niche is so key for YouTube success.

So just go for it and let your passion lead you.

Your voice is needed!

Understanding Click Through Rate – CTR for YouTube

If your channel is struggling to grow, check on your CTR  or Click-Thru-Rate on your videos and channel as a whole. This will give you important information on how to make improvements.

It’s not hard once you understand…

You can find your Click Through Rate on YouTube Analytics in your YouTube Studio, on both your channel and your individual video analytics.

They can be found under the menu – Reach.

You see…

YouTube shows your video in various places, through search, on your channel page, suggested videos and browsing.

The impressions are how many times the video has been shown and the click though rate or CTR is the percentage of how many people have clicked on your video.  C-T-R

Average CTR for YouTube is around 4-5%. 6% and above is good and under 3% is not so great.

Understanding how videos show up on search is by creating keyword rich titles. Google is a search engine.

So if your title isn’t descriptive enough, that is a problem. The other consideration is the thumbnail.

The thumbnail must be enticing and clearly demonstrates the topic of your video.

If you do not have custom thumbnails or you have thumbnails that are too busy, too many words or subject matter doesn’t match the title, you will see that in the CTR.

But with all that, sometimes some videos just aren’t as popular as others.

YouTube success is about understanding and learning how to improve not only your videos but creating thumbnails and titles as well.

Keep learning and growing!

Sub4Sub and Why It Is BAD for Your Channel

Many people like to create threads in Facebook groups for networking and they ask to support eveyone’s channel by subscribing.

It sounds innocent enough. But in truth, asking people to subscribe to your channel can often backfire and create more subscriber loss.

Subs 4 Sub is when people ask other people to subscribe to their channels.  Usually it can be an organized group or just people wanting to support other people and their channels.

The problem with Sub4sub or Sub 4 Sub, is that if the people are subscribing to a channel and they don’t watch any videos from that channel, the YouTube algorithm will see that it is a sub4sub and then the subscribe will revert back and the channel will lose those fake subscribers.

YouTube isn’t like social media, it’s all about watching videos!

If people subscribe without watching a video from the channel they have just subscribed to, it’s a seen as a fake subscriber.

YouTube wants people to watch videos, they don’t really care as much about subscribers.

So if you sub and don’t watch a video from that channel, it penalizes that channel and it makes that channel lose subs.

If you want to support a channel, subscribe and make sure you watch a video from that channel all the way through.

Only then will that channel keep the subscriber count because it’s about watching videos not gaining empty, fake subscribers.

Just keep on it!

Until next time,

Why YouTube is King of All Social Media for Evergreen Content

Everyone is all about social media these days, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, etc.

But YouTube is not social media, it’s better. And here’s why…

YouTube is the BEST way to get clients for your business. Only YouTube has the benefit of evergreen content.

Evergreen content are videos that people are searching for. As long as you have great SEO – search engine optimization on your titles and descriptions and great thumbnails, your videos will continue to get views, likes and shares due to Google and the YouTube algorithm.

Contrast this  with social media, where there is a constant feed where you may not see posts if there are too many people you follow or not enough people like a post.

That is why posting to Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms require constant posting in order to get attention.

Evergreen content is always attracting that search traffic and also monetization.

I have videos that I made several years ago and they are driving constant views and money through ad revenue to me every day. No other social media platform has the ability to gain so many clients and make ad revenue.

Each video you make is helping you grow you brand and your business!
