The beginning of the new year 2022 is the perfect time to create new goals for your YouTube Channel. Goals are great but we need to keep in mind the level your channel is at, and also considering what is realistic and achievable for you.

So with this video, I am breaking down suggested goals for starting a channel, growing a channel and then I will be sharing my goals for my channels. And here’s the deal: Goals give you structure and a plan but sometimes unexpected things come up or we decide to go into another direction. It’s all okay.

Suggested Goals for Starting a Channel:

1. Get clear on your niche and figure out who would be interested in your content. When you are clear about what kind of people would love to consume your content, it’s much easier to plan and create videos.
2. Just get started. Don’t obsess over being perfect. Start uploading and you will learn as you go.
3. Commit to uploading regularly, ideally once a week.

Suggested Goals for Growing a Channel:

1. Commit to regular uploads, once a week or more
2. Learn YouTube SEO and how to use keywords to improve your search traffic
3. Study and learn how to make great thumbnails

Remember that making YouTube video is just part of the equation for success on YouTube. The back end of your videos (keywords and thumbnails) drive search which brings new viewers to your YouTube channel.
