How to Create & Use YouTube Clips ✂️ to Share on Social Media

Some people just don’t want to invest in watching a longer video..

So now YouTube has created clips you can share, just like a movie trailer to entice people to watchmore of your video.

YouTube has created a new feature where you can create short clips of your favorite videos to save and share to social media and embed or link on email.

This feature is available for all users and not just for YouTube creators. Anyone can create a clip on any video.

When the clip has been created, it will be saved under a menu in the YouTube interface. You will see it on the left hand menu over Watch Later.

It looks like a scissor ✂️ and says Your Clips. All your clips will be saved there.

To create a clip, go to the video you want to create a clip for, go into the video and find the general area that you want to clip and then click the scissor icon ✂️ at the bottom of the YouTube player, right next to the Save button.

From there, you can take the window box and move it around to define your ideal clip, usually 30-60 minutes in length.

Once you define it, you need to make a title and then press  Save.

Here is the clip I created in the tutorial video below, so you can see how it looks and how it points to the original video.

You can then share on social media from the pop-up box or you can share later because your clips will be saved for you.

The nice thing about sharing clips is that the clip will guide people to the full length video. Because some people need a sample before they want to commit to the whole video.

It’s another great option for sharing on social media!

How to Block the Spam Bots in YouTube Studio Settings 👾

Have you noticed spam showing up in your comments in different languages with embedded inks?

These are from spam bots! 👾

More and more spam bots are making comments on your videos. Most of the time, they are pointing to porn sites, often in a foreign language.

You don’t have to take it!

Most of the time, YouTube does a pretty good job filtering inappropriate comments.

But you can go a step further by going into your YouTube Studio and then go into the Settings and then into Community.

Scroll to the bottom the the Blocked Words box and you can put in the words that you want to filter.

Once those words have been added to the blocked words, they won’t show up on your video’s comment section any more!

In this video, I show you how to do this while you watch me on loom so you can see exactly how I do it!

Best Time to Post on YouTube for Your Channel Niche and Time Zone

Do you upload your videos and then set them to public as soon they are done processing?

Here’s why it pays to wait to post your videos when your audience is most likely going to see them.

Uploading and posting at the right time can really help your YouTube video get discovered. You want to give your video the best chance to be seen as soon as your video is made public.

For what days are best, it depends on your niche. If your niche is more about business, uploading on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays are ideal.

If you are producing more entertaining videos, or longer content, weekends may be best.

And as for upload time, the earlier is usually better.

I live on the West Coast of the USA so I have just accepted that I need to upload for Eastern Standard Time.

It can take some time to determine what works best for your channel and content.

Try different times and see how it works for your channel.

And remember, you can schedule your videos to go public at the time and day you choose in your YouTube Studio.

How to Block Trolls & Spam from Your YouTube Channel

Unfortunately, spam is everywhere, even on YouTube.

But there are ways to block spammers and trolls.

When your channel gets popular, trolls and spammers can come on to your channel to leave spam with links to porn sites or trolls that leave rude remarks.

You do not have to take it!

Beside each comment, you will see three dots, which you have to mouse over to see the menu.

Click on the three dots, and the menu opens up. You can report SPAM or other inappropriate material and also you can ban trolls from interacting with your channel.

In either case, the offensive comments will be deleted from your channel and in the case of the trolls, they are held in troll jail that you can access in your YouTube studio under settings and then community.

The three dot menus are kind of tricky and they are easily missed.

But as you learn to mouse over them, you will be able to access all you need to remove comments.

Why should you always schedule your videos

When you schedule your videos, you can target your uploads to go live when your audience is most likely to see it.

The first 48 hours are crucial for your video to get as much exposure as possible. YouTube tracks how your video is doing so you want everything to come together so your video can take off!

Another benefit of scheduling your videos from private to public is that you can take time offfrom making weekly videos by using batch filming and then scheduling the videos to go livewhen you’re on vacation or have other things you need to attend.
